OMEGA X-RAY, 2022
I created Omega X-Ray as an addition to the X-ray series that began with Cufflink. The piece takes a look beneath Omega’s shapeshifting exterior and reveals the strength at the center of his character.
Omega is a wolf spirit who carries two opposing values: the independence of the lone wolf and the responsibility of the pack. I was drawn to the idea of the omega as the overlooked underdog, someone treated as less important but capable of restoring the group’s spirit when hardship hits. In Omega’s story, that same figure may eventually leave the pack, survive alone, and discover strength outside of the position others assigned to him.
His smirk and posture give the piece a confident lone-wolf energy. The rough WOLVES lettering adds a raw, me-against-the-world feeling, while the X-ray reveals that his confidence is supported by something deeper. Omega X-Ray represents the strength to stand alone without forgetting the value of lifting others when they need it.
